People really seemed to take a shine to yesterday’s comic. Specifically, the punch line. So I decided to strike while the iron was hot and whip up a t-shirt design…
What do you guys think? Leave me your comments. If there is enough good will to pursue it, I’ll see about printing them up in the next few weeks!
It needs two exclamation points, other than that, it does come off as a bit of a girl shirt, (if that’s what you’re goin for then never mind) I think it’s the pink lips. I could totally see my wife wearing this though.
If it’s got lips on it, it’ll probably come off girly.
But doesn’t putting the design on a black shirt make it metrosexual? ;D
Replace the lips with the letter O so guys can wear it too.
I dunno, I could see a guy wearing that and not looking particularly girly – I mean, guys have tattoos and wear t-shirts of women, so what makes a woman’s lips alone so much less manly?
As to whether most guys would go around generally encouraging people to kiss each other on the mouth, well, that’s another question altogether… π
In any case, I like it, and if mostly women bought/wore it, that would be no bad thing, really!
I agree with TheDudeAbides — it needs some exclamation points to make more of a comedic impact. Without any punctuation, it isn’t as powerful as it was originally presented in the comic. I think the lips in the word “mouth” is all right, however, I think it should be red instead of pink. That could perhaps be the reason why some guys are hesitant to wear it. As a girl, I personally would wear it…I think it’s a nice design.
I think another thing that bugs me is the font. I’m not sure if it’s working the same magic for me as the punchline from the comic. Have you tried different text? Perhaps not all capitalization?
If delivered properly, I’d definitely buy the shirt. I think it’s funny. π Good work, Tom!
If you have a silhouette of a woman, even only a curvy line below the text (like the kappa logo of the trucker mudflaps, haha) then it’s clearly man friendly without a doubt…
Also, if you want to print this up, I can get you a good price. Just contact me (twitter.com/michaeldukakis) and we’ll see if its better than what you can get.
Enjoy your work,
mike
I want this shirt.
I’m sorry that I don’t have some meaningful insight to add to this conversation.
But I will say that if you print this shirt, as is, I would buy it.
…If it was just spelled out without the kiss for the O, I’d buy them for friends in groups of two.
