I own the TRON: Legacy soundtrack, and honestly, I’ve listened to it over and over and over and over, more so than any other album I’ve listened to in a very long time.
The thing about a Soundtrack is that it has to blend with the visuals, which I think Daft Punk did perfectly, and I LOVE the mix of the electronic and orchestral sound.
I think it really speaks to the musicality of the Duo that they were able to put out such an amazing work.
I also think the TRON 3 (Whatever they end up calling it) would benefit from a soundtrack from Daft Punk that brings a little more Funk.
The music in Social Network didn’t really stand out to me as anything that special. I should say that I wasn’t that big a fan of the movie itself( thought it was good but not great).
The music in Tron felt like a really driving force in the movie and was a great companion to the visuals on the screen.
Honestly, the TRON: Legacy soundtrack is one of my favourite albums ever and has completely reignited my love for Daft Punk. I’ve listened to it more times than I can count and it really does fit the visuals of the film beautifully. If they don’t get some kind of recognition for it, it’ll be a crying shame.
I do agree that Derezzed should have been longer, though.
