I don’t know if this makes me a guy, a cool girl or something else entirely, but is anyone else just excited to see War Machine and Whiplash kick some serious ass?
Has it been a month? So does this mean the guest strips aren’t part of regular continuity? What, have they all been dreams? Alternate Theater Hopper Realities?
The guest comics aren’t really part of regular continuity. Several of them are timely with the new releases that came out at the time but they don’t build the narrative. I think of them more like windows into an alternate Theater Hopper reality.
Relaxing Dragon,
I’ve heard a couple of people say they were underwhelmed by the Iron Man 2 trailer. But, to me, they’re approaching it pretty much the same way they did with the first Iron Man trailer. Remember when that premiered during the Super Bowl in 2008? It was kind of a hodge podge of images until Tony fires that forearm mounted missile at the tank… tic… tic… tic… BOOM! Totally perfect.
The IM2 trailer gives me the same chills with Tony and Rhodey standing back to back.
Arend,
The guest strips for Avatar were more out of necessity than anything else. I would have loved to done some comics about them, but at this point I probably can’t go back to it unless it gets nominated for a boat load of Oscars.
Where’s Dr. Hibbert when you need him? Good to have you back Tom.
Am I the only one strangely underwhelmed by the Iron Man 2 trailer? I have total faith that it will be an awesome movie, but the trailer isn’t doing it for me. Doesn’t seem to live up to the one from the first one (of course, the big thing that won me over there was the “I am Iron Man!” thing at the end, so what do I know).
I only needed to see the last five seconds of the Iron Man 2 trailer. Nerdgasm achieved. Now it’s time to go into IM media blackout until the movie actually comes out.
Yeah, I skipped most of the guest strips. I dropped in, every now and then, to see if you were back. I couldn’t get into them. It just wasn’t the same, and Tom Brazelton’s Theater Hopper is the only webcomic for me…..so far. So, with that I’m glad you’re back. I think that this strip ties in extremely well with your absence. Though, I would have done a few things differently in this strip. It was, still, great. I think that you should carry this arc through for a week or two. Maybe explain that the others were dreams or something. I dunno. It’s up to you. Also, I’m with Alexander Burns on going back into IM media blackout. ((though I’m only in it until Super Bowl trailers and then back into it))
Avatar will receive several little gold baldies at the Academy Awards this year but I predict it will totally rule the Academy Award’s geeky little brother: the Scientific & Technical Awards. No need to even hold them, just ship all the Scientific & Technicals Award to James Cameron’s house (along with the sexy hostess) & be done with it.
Actually, I was thrilled to see the Alice in Wonderland preview in 3D. Pretty darn cool!

Great comeback Tom, I love it.

Welcome back, Tom! I hope the guests strips helped.

I’ve just got to ask. Why did you only do a guest stip about Avatar? You could have probibly done an entire story arc about it
Beeeee… ‘Tom Daybreakers is coming out, you can’t leave us yet! Come back!’
