If you’re checking the comic late on Sunday, please vote for Theater Hopper at Top Web Comics. It’s the start of a new month, so that means all the vote tallys start over again. I’d like to try and crack the Top 10 just so a few more people are aware of our existence. If you could help me with that, I would appreciate it.
I’ll probably mention this again first thing on Monday just because I know more people will be reading. Please don’t think less of me.

There was a point yesterday where Theater Hopper was number 12 on the Top 150 list of Top Web Comics. Now we’re number 15! Please remember to VOTE EVERY DAY!

In all my anti 2 Fast, 2 Furious ranting, I forgot to ask you to vote for Theater Hopper at Top Web Comics.
Sticking firmly to their “we only update once a month” policy, Movie Comics put out a new strip and are asking for votes. They’re slowing creeping up the charts.
So please vote. Because I was getting a real ego boost out of being the highest ranked movie-thememed web comic on the Top 150… 😉

I thought I would just post a little reminder to vote for Theater Hopper every day at Top Web Comics.
No particular reason this time, except it kind of cheeses me to see Bob and George getting more votes than me.
More power to him, I suppose. But I’m just not a sprite kind of guy!

Not to toot my own horn, or anything – but I was kind of skimming through the most recent strips and I have to say I’m really proud of the last two weeks of work in terms of the art. I’m not trying to be pompous, but I’m just very pleased with the way a lot of these strips turned out.
I just wish there were more people seeing them. Maybe if you could extend a little vote love we can work Theater Hopper up the charts on the TWC?
I started Theater Hopper last August, so it’s not yet been a full year of work. But I have this sneaking suspicion that in the web comic world, things start to slow down over the summer.
I think it has something to do with all of the college kids not having as much time to kill during the day. They probably all have summer jobs and aren’t visiting as often as they do in the winter.
I don’t know why I’m sharing this. Just thinking out loud, I guess.

I just wanted to remind everyone that today is July 1st, which means all the votes at Top Web Comics have been wiped clean.
Be sure to vote for Theater Hopper every day and we might have a chance at cracking the Top 10! We’ve been really close the last two months, so let’s see if we can get over the hump!
Thanks to everyone for their support!

First up, major props to everyone for helping put Theater Hopper into the TOP 10 AT TOP WEB COMICS! There are simply no words to express my sincere appreciation for your support. I put out the call, you guys answered. You rock.
Second issue. I saw American Wedding last night. It sucked. I didn’t laugh once. Stiffler was really getting on my nerves. Every time he popped up on screen, I keep thinking “He needs to take it from a 10 to a 5.” More on this later.
Lastly, I stumbled across a link to a LiveJournal site from my referral logs called Grammar Whores (replies and comments can be found here). Although complimentary to the comic, I’m basically being called to task for the horrible grammar and spelling in these blogs. In fact, the author goes so far as to suggest you skip reading these blogs altogether.
I’m calling your attention to this for a couple of reasons:
One. I happen to really enjoy these blogs and I think they are an important component to the site. They compliment the strips, and I think they’re fun to read. I don’t want anyone skipping over them if I can help it.
Two. Having your poor grammar and spelling pointed out in a public forum is a lot like someone telling you your fly is down at a big party or broccoli in your teeth when you’re meeting the President. It’s embarassing, it shouldn’t have happened, but there it is.
So here is what I propose. If you spot any spelling or grammar errors in these blogs, PLEASE NOTIFY ME. I would rather go back and correct it than have my stupidity hanging out on the internet for all to see. I think it’s important to be proactive about this. It’s far more effective than talking behind someone’s back.
Just so everyone understands how I work, I often don’t write my blogs until after I’ve completed the strip. I’ve probably been sitting at my computer for the last two hours doing so, and anything that comes out after that is usually very hurried and off the cuff – largely because I just want to go to bed.
Again, it shouldn’t happen that way, but there you go.
Let me know where we’re at, and the site will be better for it. Thanks.

I don’t want you to think I’m vote-whoring, but I am very interested in keeping Theater Hopper in the Top 10 at the TWC. Yesterday we were at number 6 and today we are at number 8.
Please remember to VOTE EVERY DAY! Otherwise, this fantastic achievement will slip through our grasp!
Be sure to check back later in the day. I’ll have a few items I’ll be adding to the site…

Apr 6, 2005 | BLOG TO COME |
I just wanted to point out that we’ve fallen off the Top Ten at Top Web Comics. So this is just a little reminder to get everyone in gear and VOTE EVERY DAY!!!
Although, if I’m going to fall off the list, I don’t have a problem losing out to Instant Classic, I was getting so used to seeing our banner there…
The other bit of site news is that I am now selling advertising space (click on the link for more information). So if you have a site you would like to promote, please keep Theater Hopper in mind as an advertising option. More spots will probably become available on the left and right hand sides of the comic in the near future. So, look out for that, too.
I know there was some talk in the past about me redesigning the site, but that looks less likely now. Every layout I came up with just looked weird. Especially since I didn’t want to lose the curtains.
So what I’ll probably end up doing is ditching the links on the sides and replace those with advertising. Any specialty site news like merchandise or reviews will be placed directly below the comic but before the blog in a handy rotating banner set up. I’ll probably expand the width of the blog space as well so you won’t have to scroll so far to read it.
These are just minor touch-ups. But I thought you would like to be aware of them.

Buckle in, kids. Because we’ve got a lot of clicking to do!
It’s a brand new month and that means all the vote stats over at Top Web Comics has reset. Do your part and VOTE FOR THEATER HOPPER EVERY DAY! Right now we’re at number 22 on the list, but I’m sure we can crack the Top 10 by the end of the day with your help!
With that out of the way, I want to draw your attention to TWO new sponsers that I want you to check out.
The first is Digital Entertainment News. This is a great site chock FULL of news, reviews and information regarding all of the latest home console and PC video games. Digital Entertainment News has one of the best and most professional looking site-designs of any game review site out there. Articles are easy to find and extremely well written. And don’t forget about the contests! Check them out now!
Our second sponsor is Twisted Kaiju Theater – a web comic of an entirely different breed. Using tiny Godzilla and Monster Island-related figurines, Twisted Kaiju Theater has produced over 400 comics of Japanese-flavored wackiness. It’s hard to explain. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself!
If you could check out both of our sponsors, I would really appreciate it. These sponsorships help to keep Theater Hopper going and I would like to return the favor to anyone who has faith enough to advertise with us. It means a lot.
Thanks again to everyone for their support. Things just keep getting better and better!
