I’ve been slacking off lately when it comes to giving shout-outs to all the new friends I’m making in the online comic community. Though it is a tad impersonal, the following is a list of sites you should be visiting daily if you aren’t already:
Movie Comics, Force Monkeys, Dead Beef, VG Cats, The Misc, Tribble, Modern Physics, Think Tank, Screw High
If you have your own comic web site and are interested in taking part in our Link Exchange Program, contact me and we’ll set it up.
And while we’re on the subject of links, it would benefit everyone who visits to check out our Free For All Links section. The concept is simple. You have a link, you add it. The scripting takes care of the rest!
It’s a cool feature and will put some of the content control in the hands of the users. Check it out!

I forgot to mention a couples of new strips I’ve added to the links page. Both of these are new entries into the world of web comics, but their creators are as nice a lemonade on a hot summer day.
Why do I feel like whistling a jaunty tune?
Anyway, be sure make Go Eat A Spamwich and Scene Rascalin’ part of your weekly reads.
Also want to send a shout out to Mitch over at Nothing Nice To Say. He was cool enough to put a link to us in his blog and we’re seeing a flood of people coming in from his site. Thanks, Mitch!
Sidenote: I checked out Go Eat A Spamwich before posting this update and they’re currently down due to exceeding their bandwidth. But you should definitely bookmark them and check them out later. Great color penciled work.
This temporary stay is no doubt the Mitch’s handiwork. He also linked to G.E.A.S.
The power one man wields… scary…

It’s always a real treat when another web comic links to your site from theirs. It’s a real validation to have your work recognized not only by fans, but by others in the industry who like what you do.
Imagine my utter pants-wetting glee when upon checking my counter logs, I was deluged by hits from the main page blogs of not one, not two, but three big web comics.
Many thanks to Troy’s Bucket, Nothing Nice to Say and, in a surprise revelation, Something Positive for giving me notice on their sites today.
A link back on my end is but a small gesture. One not truly indicative of my appreciation. Please check out all three sites and let them know their awesomeness is far-reaching.
And, as long as I’m directing traffic, everyone should be sure to check out LINKS
No Pants Tuesday. Zach finally got it together and purchased himself a fancy new domain. You can now find him at (appropriately) http://www.nopantstuesday.com. Be sure to pay him a visit and check out the new strip he put up today.

I’ve been WAY to lazy lately in regard to hooking up sites with link exchanges. I’ve had some e-mails I’ve been sitting on since December and I feel bad because normally I get right on that kind of stuff.
So, in an effort to calm the waters, I wanted to draw everyone’s attention to the following comics: It’s All Been Done, Kule Incorporated, Pathetisad and Destined For Nothing. They’re all really cool and need your support. Check them out right now.
In other web comic news, it looks like Zeek v2.0 has closed it’s doors. The announcement was pretty abrupt. Most people didn’t know it was coming.
From the looks of things, there won’t be any access to the archives, which is a shame. Issac made a damn fine comic. I’ll miss it.

Buckle in, kids. Because we’ve got a lot of clicking to do!
It’s a brand new month and that means all the vote stats over at Top Web Comics has reset. Do your part and VOTE FOR THEATER HOPPER EVERY DAY! Right now we’re at number 22 on the list, but I’m sure we can crack the Top 10 by the end of the day with your help!
With that out of the way, I want to draw your attention to TWO new sponsers that I want you to check out.
The first is Digital Entertainment News. This is a great site chock FULL of news, reviews and information regarding all of the latest home console and PC video games. Digital Entertainment News has one of the best and most professional looking site-designs of any game review site out there. Articles are easy to find and extremely well written. And don’t forget about the contests! Check them out now!
Our second sponsor is Twisted Kaiju Theater – a web comic of an entirely different breed. Using tiny Godzilla and Monster Island-related figurines, Twisted Kaiju Theater has produced over 400 comics of Japanese-flavored wackiness. It’s hard to explain. You’ll just have to experience it for yourself!
If you could check out both of our sponsors, I would really appreciate it. These sponsorships help to keep Theater Hopper going and I would like to return the favor to anyone who has faith enough to advertise with us. It means a lot.
Thanks again to everyone for their support. Things just keep getting better and better!

Just had a few things I wanted to announce – site related? You know the drill.
First, say “Hi” to our two new advertisers – Awaken The Witch and The Third Half. Awaken The Witch is a resource for all of your witchy needs! Lots of stuff for sale and a forum to boot. The Third Half is an interesting web comic that has fun tweaking reality. Check them out!
Remember, we still have lots of space open for you guys to advertise on. The banner at the top of the page is a great purchase. It appears on every page and it’s only $50 for 30 days! That’s a lot of bang for your buck, trust me. Besides, what other web sites publish their ad rates up front like we do? We’re interested in your business!
Also don’t forget the column and banner pools closer to the bottom of the comic. People can toss their ads in there at any time and they’re guaranteed coverage because we sell them by the number of times they’ve been viewed. We don’t have any ads in the column pool right now, so you can get some concentrated exposure since you won’t be sharing the space with anyone else.
I also wanted to call attention to some web sites I’ve decided to link to. Please be sure to check out Banish Ed, Life of Convenience and Questionable Content. All three are great sites and fun reads.
Lastly, “Hooray!” for Instant Classic who finally sorted out all of their sever problems! The site is up and running with a special message from Brian. No new comics as of yet, but expect more antics from Author and Kate this coming Monday!

Wanted to tip you guys off to some good links worth checking out.
First, be sure to visit our newest sponsor Chuck & Elmo. It’s a fun comic and features characters who can talk to squirrels! How can it fail?
Also be sure to check out Taking the Bi-Pass. My good friend Dave is helping to do some coding work on the site right now and I wanted to repay him with some advertising. It was an easy decision to make since I’ve been a fan of Dave’s comic since he started. It’s very good. ENJOY IT!
Lastly, if you’re a gamer, you’re probably familiar with the whole debacle that has pitted Florida lawyer Jack Thompson against seminal gaming web comic Penny Arcade. If you are unfamiliar, the story is probably way to long to go into here.
But at any rate, if you’re following along, my good friend Monk over at Digital Entertainment News scored quite the "get" and was able to sit down with Mr. Thompson for an extended interview.
The interview doesn’t cover the controversy with Penny Arcade, but covers some of the finer details of Jack’s arguments against the gaming industry and it’s marketing practices. Typically Thompson’s bombastic tactics and palpable contempt for his adversaries obscure the work he’s actually trying to accomplish. This interview does a good job of pulling back the veneer and gets to the heart of what motivates this guy to tackle the billion dollar gaming industry head-on.
So it’s clear, I’m not a fan of Jack Thompson. I think he’s a huckster of the highest order. An ambulance chaser building notoriety for himself by standing a top the corpses of violence and somehow trying to tie it to the gaming industry.
But at the same time, I am very much interested in understanding the mechanics of my enemy. I think too many people see Jack’s action as an assault against their pastime – and it is! But instead of shouting the guy down or making fun of him outright, try for a minute to crawl inside his head space. Figure out what makes him tick. What are his motivations?
An interview like this helps to do that.
If you’re a gamer and this issue is of interest to you, please read. If motivated to do so, please share it with others. Thanks.

I know last Friday I totally bombarded you guys with links. But there was one in particular that I forgot which was important to me.
Last week, Michael Lalonde’s Orneryboy celebrated its 200th strip. I’m a big fan of Mike’s work. I think Orneryboy has been one of the most consistently entertaining and most richly designed comics on the web. I also think Mike has one of the sharpest looking sites in web comics.
Swing by the site and give Mike your best. He’s worked hard and he’s earned it.
Additionally, I’m still pimping my recently minted MySpace account. I have now become addicted to adding people to my friends list. It’s like Pokemon! Gotta catch them all!

I’m feeling kind of spunky this afternoon and I wanted to share a few links to some other web sites that I think you guys should check out.
Used to be, back in the day, I would trade links with anyone who batted their eyelashes at me. These days… well, I’m a little more busy. But I don’t want that to be an excuse. I want to tell you guys what I’m into because that’s really the spirit of the web comics thing, isn’t it? I don’t want to stake off this little piece of internet and feverishly protect it like a frothing Gollum. "My web sitesee! Preccciiouuusssss!" Nope. Instead I’m gonna share the love. It’s good karma, doncha know?
THE PC WEENIES – Krishna Sadasivam is a great guy who produces a really sharp comic about the IT world. I don’t work in IT. I don’t know a lot about IT. But I kow a lot of guys who do, and this kind of stuff rings exceptionally true. I think he has a real strong sense of characterization. It’s just really easy to imagine what Bob and Grampa sound like.
MULTIPLEX – If you like Theater Hopper, you’ll dig Gordon McAlpin’s Multiplex. It’s about movies, but in a different way. Instead of having outsiders running around making commentary about movies, imagine if Jimmy got his own comic. That’s what Multiplex is like. It’s from the eyes of the people who work in the theater! Gordon has a way of taking really funny situations and playing them straight. Which, I think, makes them funnier. Plus, I like Gordon. I’ve chatted him up a few times online and he seems really into what he’s doing. I think that’s worth something right there.
POPCORN PICNIC – Another movie-related comic. This one is just getting off the ground. Chris Shadoian’s artwork is really sharp. Like an Archie comic with a hipster bent. If you’ve read Acid Keg, you’re kind of familiar with the style. Chris is out there, quietly doing his thing and I believe it’s time someone made some noise about it. Incidentally, it was Gordon who tipped me off to this one.
DIGITAL PIMP ONLINE – In my head, everyone in the universe already knows about the great work Joe Dunn is doing with his myriad of comics. This guy’s level of talent seriously freaks me out. It scares me. His work with Mighty Mitch Clem on The Coffee Achievers is about to come to a close, but I think it’s probably one of the greatest colaborations in web comics. Nevermind his work on Matriculated, Free Lunch and Joe Loves Crappy Movies. The later being a movie comic that always comes up with jokes I wish I had thought of! Joe is all over the map with his work and I don’t think he gets enough credit. So check out each one of those comics that he works on and find out why I call him "The Hardest Working Man In Web Comics."
Anyway, those are a few sites for your bookmark folders. If you’re in the mood for some new stuff, I would strongly encourage you to check them out!
