In the THorum, I have a friend who posts under the handle “Beefy”. Beefy is a good guy. Beefy is musically talented. Beefy has a website. Beefy has just released an album.
It’s called “The Whitesican EP” and it’s available – FOR FREE – on Beefy’s site, right here.
Beefy wants you to know that while you can download 8 songs for free (!!!), he appreciates donations. If you donate $5, you get a 9th song added to your queue, and you get that warm ember glowing in your soul that says, “Hey, you just supported someone’s art. Good for you.”
If you’re fans at all of Albino Blacksheep, you might have seen a Flash version of “Whitesican” appears on the site. I’ll tell you right now that I have the MP3 version of this song as well as the others on my iPod right now. Another stand-out is “David’s Sister”
Why don’t you check out Beefy’s album and give it a download?

You guys are probably wondering where your regular dose of TH goodness is at today? Well, in case you’ve been ignoring the blogs for the last few weeks, today is the day that I kick off a week of guest strips. The reason? Cami and I are going to be moving into a new house on Wednesday, so my attention is currently somewhat… fractured.
But you guys are lucky, because I have a wonderful assortment of guest strips to get you through the week. In fact, I’m running a guest strip EVERY DAY this week. So, really – everyone wins.
Today’s guest strip comes from a good friend. Someone I got to know quite well from hanging out in the THorum. His name is Beefy and he’s super cool.
I feel bad because this is a guest comic Beefy made for me AGES ago and I kept promising to put it up. For whatever reason, things didn’t work out the last couple of times I ran guest strips. Mostly I think it had to do with math. Meaning, if I had run his strip, I would have one day of a new week with a guest strip and the remaining two days with new content from yours truly. And since I’m really anal about that kind of thing, I never ran the comic. Stupid math!
Anyway, I’m making up for it today and running his comic FIRST!
Everyone needs to swing by his site Beefyness.com. He’s got a bunch of cool stuff for you to check out. A great blog, a forum and a bunch of really funny comics. But most notably, Beefy writes songs – rap songs – and each of them are excellent. You can download the whole of his Whitsican EP right now – but of course you can always help support him by sending donations.
Don’t you think it’s worth your time and money to check out the efforts of an extremely nice fellow who put togethera songs about the THorum? I do!
Thanks, Beefy!
Since I don’t have much in terms of content to deliver to you guys today, I wanted to take a moment to draw your attention to my good friend Beefy.
Beefy is a prominent member of the Theater Hopper online community affectionately referred to as the THorum. Beefy also has quite a talent for words set to music. Otherwise known as "rapping" to all the kids. I hear it’s quite popular.
Beefy is a musician at the forefront of the emerging nerd-core scene. Chances are if you hang out on the internet with any regularity, love Star Wars and comic books, his new EP "Nerd" will be right up your alley.
Maybe you’re the type of person who appreciates "phat" rhymes and "tight" beats. Well, in that case, Beefy’s EP will be right up your alley, too.
Support my good friend Beefy. He’s got some great songs for you to listen to and they don’t cost a lot of dough. I know he would appreciate your support so he can continue to produce his original sound and bring it to the world.

Sorry, gang. No new comic or incentive sketch for Friday. Instead you’re being treated to some fan art by my good friend Beefy who is referencing this comic about Tom’s last wishes. Incidentally, you should all check out Beefy’s web site, Beefyness.com. In addition to comics, he produces some really great nerd-core rap songs, several of which you can download for free. Of course, I’m certain if you dontate money to help him pursue his artistic interests, he would appreciate it.
The reason you’re without a new comic to help you close out the week is because I went to see Nine Inch Nails live in concert and I didn’t have time to put something together for you. I had to work ahead to get Wednesday’s strip out there because I was out celebrating Valentine’s Day with Cami on Tuesday. To perform that feet twice in one week – let alone when the options in theaters right now are their worst – well, I couldn’t meet the challenge.
I feel bad. It’s not often that I willingly lay down my pen. Usually, if there isn’t a new comic, there’s a good reason. I’m on vacation, my FTP connection isn’t working, my monitor exploded – something beyond my control. This time, it’s essentially lack of time and a little bit of burn out tossed into the mix.
Maybe it’s not a big deal to some, but it’s a big deal to me. I know in web comics, deadlines always seem to be shifting around. But for the last three and a half years, I’ve been pretty good about meeting mine. Considering some of the really wonderful e-mails I’ve been getting out of the blue lately, I feel like I’m letting you guys down.
But it is what it is and I’m only human. I went to a concert, didn’t get back until late, am feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment and needed a little break. I’ll be back and ready to go on Monday and I plan on putting the finishing touches on the book that collects the first year of Theater Hopper strips this weekend. So thanks for letting my have the day off.
And if you’re thinking about it, always feel free to submit fan art. Who knows! Your stuff might end up on the front page of the site the next time I’m in a time crunch. If not there, it’ll always have a home on the fan art page. That’s not a bad deal!
I’ll catch up with you soon.

Once again my good friend Beefy comes through in a clutch? Is there anything this guy can’t do? First it’s awesome nerdcore rap (found only at Beefyness.com) and now it’s guest strips! I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. After all, he’s sent guest strips before. Don’t you think his art has gotten a lot better? I do!
It never really occured to me the Joe from Joe Loves Crappy Movies and I would get into a dramatic showdown, but I suppose, like Highlander, there can be only one. But one thing Highlander didn’t have going for it were the patient wives standing off to the side while their immortal warriors tussled in a giant cloud of smoke, throwing up the devil horns.
RAWK ON!
Thanks again to Beefy for the great strip. Remember that we’re doing a full week of guest strips. So if you missed the contribution of M.C. Man – the creator of The Adventures of Masked Cape Man – then his excellent comic is one click on the ‘back’ button away!
See you here tomorrow!
