Just wanted to take a quick time-out to say congratulations to Ali Graham for crossing a monumental milestone. As of today, Ali has posted 1,000 strips of his comic HOUSD. It’s an amazing accomplishment and worthy of your attention.
I know you might be thinking to yourself "1,000 comics? Gee, that’s a lot. I don’t know if I could ever read a comic like that. Think about all the stuff I missed!" To that, I say "Don’t worry about it." Ali produces a great comic. Sure, there might be a few inside jokes from time to time, but what’s funny is funny and I know you’ll see where he’s coming from. There’s no reason to feel intimidated.
Actually, there’s REALLY no reason to be intimidated, because today is also the launch date of the HOUSD Wikipedia! So you can get caught up in a flash!

Once again – Congrats, Ali. Here’s to 1,000 more.

Big ups to Housd creator Ali Graham for coming to the rescue with this guest strip. As I’ve come to know him through Boxcar, Ali is the go-to guy when you need a little extra coverage. Anyone in the group who has asked for a guest strip from the others will see Ali be the first to serve something up and his work is consistently hilarious. Of course, what else can you expect from someone who has been dedicated enough to pump out over 1,000 strips! The man is a dynamo! Thanks, Ali!
This weekend I was in Chicago with friends auditioning for VH1’s World Series of Pop Culture. For legal reasons, I can’t give you too many specifics about the show. But I plan on sharing more about the trip later. We happened to be in town for Chicago’s world-famous St. Patrick’s Day parade, so it’s safe to say we had a blast!
I’ll likely be posting something about the trip to the THorum later this afternoon or evening. I have photos, too. So look for updates on those as well. I’ll be sure to let everyone know where to find it when posted.

Today’s guest comic comes from my fellow Boxcar Comics compatriot and creator of the web comic Hous’d Ali Graham!
Ali told me he felt a little lame submitting this one-panel Garden State parody. I told him not to worry about it because I think it turned out great! The graffiti on the crane is excellent and it looks authentic! Truthfully, I wish I had come up with the idea.
Not everyone knows this, but Ali is a guest comic machine. I think he’s done at least two guest comics for nearly everyone in Boxcar by this point. Of course, what do you expect from a guy with nearly 1,100 comics in his archive? We joke that there should be a contest to see who can submit their guest comic first whenever one of us asks for a little back up. No one ever beats Ali.
