I don’t know if you heard the good word or not, but both Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown were released on Blu-ray this Tuesday.
Considering how long I’ve waited for both of these films to be released on Blu-ray and considering how integral both films were to the development of my taste in film during my formative high school and college years, I thought it was worth sharing the trailers for the Blu-ray editions here.
Incidentally, if you wanted to pick up either Pulp Fiction or Jackie Brown on Blu-ray for your collection, I’ve provided handy links right there so you can do that…
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Jackie Brown, so I’m eager to revisit it. Pulp Fiction, of course, I can quote backwards and forwards.
What’s your impression of these two seminal Quentin Tarantino films? Leave your comments below!
I used to not like ‘Jackie Brown’ when I was younger, as I’ve gotten older it has climbed to dam near the top of my list.
This is gonna be blasphemy to say, but I’m not that big a fan of Pulp. It is good, but it is the QT movie I would be least likely to watch.
With regard to Pulp Fiction, I think familiarity breeds contempt. It’s been parodied and referenced within an inch of its life. It doesn’t quite have the impact that it used to. But that doesn’t discount what makes it important in the history of film.
Elmore Leonard’s novel was a great foundation from Jackie Brown to build from. Excellent slow-burning plot.
“Slow-burning” is an understatement. I have no interest in ever seeing Jackie Brown again because it is for me the supreme example of how most Tarantino movies are in need of a good edit to tighten them up. JB could have been an entertaining 90 min caper if you cut out the other hour where nothing much happens.
