I’m not particularly a fan of horror movies, but I do love a good ghost story. Daniel Radcliffe’s first post-Harry Potter role appears to deliver in this adaptation of Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black. Take a look at the trailer below.
Sure, creepy dolls and photos with crossed out eyes are cheap horror movie tropes. The child’s narration is a little overdone, too. But I like the creeping menace in this film. That last shot in the trailer seals the deal.
Also, I never noticed until now how much Daniel Radcliffe without glasses looks like Patrick Dempsey. Is it me?
What do you think of this BONE CHILLING trailer? Leave your comments below. The Woman in Black hits theaters on February 13, 2012.
Will definitely be seeing this one. Was already planning on it before because I was curious to see how he does outside of HP, but this trailer seals the deal for seeing it in theaters.
He DOES look like a very young Patrick Dempsey! Daniel could be a younger flashback of Dr. Shepherd or his long lost son haha. Or he could take over whenever Dempsey leaves.
Wow. Creepy creepy trailer. Love it. Wonder if it’ll be on par with Del Toro’s Devil’s Backbone? Now that’s a creepy movie!
I thought this trailer was so creepy that I refuse to see the film in theaters as I will be scared out of my mind. I think Daniel looks like he’s doing a good job in it, but I probably won’t see it until it comes out on DVD and I can watch it in the middle of the day with all the lights on and my husband next to me. But I think it looks good, and it’s definitively a departure from HP for him to establish himself as an actor.
