Empire Magazine recently released images for three covers they’re using to help promote X-Men: First Class. This is the cover that caught my eye.
Nicholas Hoult looks a little more convincing as Beast. But Jennifer Lawrence’s Mystique looks drowsy with a receding hairline. I don’t care how much cleavage you show, you’re creeping me out, Jenny. The cover is obviously ‘shopped. They couldn’t have gotten a better picture of her?
If you want to check out the other two covers (including Michael Fassbender as Magneto) swing over to Empire Online and check them out.
What’s your take on these new images? Also, when did Empire Magazine become a total fanboy rag? I used to think they were one of the classier, “high-end” movie publications. Did I miss a memo?

Anyone else think Nicholas Hoult kinda looks like the Captain from the recent Doctor Who series and Torchwood spinoff?
And Mystique looks bored. And boring. Which is sad, cause the earlier movies made her hot sexy and very interesting, as she should be.
This movie looks terrible. I just can’t like it.
Why is Mystique even wearing a uniform? She can morph clothes so why would she have that stupid thing on? Also have to say the same for Beast, just give the guy some pants and he’s good.
Not seeing this movie.
The first class of X-Men are and always shall be: Jean Grey (Marvel Girl), Scott Summers (Cyclops), Hank McCoy (Beast), Warren Worthington III (Angel), and Bobby Drake (Ice Man).
That is all. Mystique as an X-Men. Especially an ORIGINAL X-Men is just a rediculous travesty. And they can’t say “Oh, we’re just trying to keep our movie continuity” because they freaking set up Cyclops as being in the “first class” in the Wolverine movie. And if he wasn’t in the first class in 1979, then Emma Frost can’t be a freaking grown woman in 1962.
Damnit Marvel, you need to get your lisences back and start making good movies like Iron Man.
