Hey, guys. Sorry for another late comic. I know that this has been happening more and more frequently, but I feel like it’s a by-product of the time that I’m putting in on this story line.
I’m pretty far out of my comfort zone on this one. I’ve been coming up with new character designs, trying new panel arrangements and posing the characters differently. I’ve been doing a lot of effects work and generally trying to make the action pop off the page. I know the last few comics have been kind of light on the jokes, but I hope you at least appreciate the effort that’s going into the art.
That said, I think I’m about ready to wrap things up on this story line. It’s just taking too much out of me and throwing me way off schedule. I hate being late with the comic. It’s my number one rule and I keep breaking it over and over again. I want to get back on track.
I should mention that I was able to see Iron Man 2 again over the weekend and I think I had a better time watching it for a second time than I did the first time around.
I’m not saying that I didn’t enjoy the movie the first time around. I think I was just trying to soak it all in. Watching it for a second time, I could relax and let it unfold in front of me a little more.
I’m in the middle of writing my review right now and I hope to have it posted to the site soon. Maybe Tuesday, we’ll see. The review is not 100% positive, which might surprise some of you. But I think I’m being fair about the films plot holes and shortcomings (of which there are a few).
In any case, it will be my definitive statement on the matter and hopefully we can move on to greener pastures soon.
Thanks again for your patience. Stay close to Twitter and Facebook for updates on the Iron Man 2 review when it’s posted!
Talk to you soon!
You aren't the only one that can modify a costume with offensive weaponry!
LOAD THE SECOND ROUND OF BOTTLE ROCKETS!
Don’t worry about the tardiness of updates during this storyline. It’s like you’ve become Valve while writing this; the updates take longer, but the final product is well above average. AND WORTH THE WAIT!
Seriosuly, Bottle Rocket War Machine? SOLD XD
Bottle rockets! Aw snap, that’s gotta hurt.
And I agree with Razzmatazz. The art looking this good actually adds to the jokes–Tom running around in a cardboard Iron Man costume is that much funnier when you go all out on it.
Since it was my birthday this past weekend, we went to see IM2 for a second time on Saturday, and I have to agree that I enjoyed it more the second go around. I’m not sure why.
There are plenty of things I could nitpick about the movie, but really it worked despite all those minor flaws. Very fun film.
Yeah I agree with Jackson and Razzmatazz. These comics have been pretty great and I love the hot cardboard on whip action. Bottle Rockets FTW!
I’m another one who agrees with the top two. Don’t worry about a thing, Tom. You’re pleasing the fans, and that’s all that matters. π Thanks for having Jared “return fire”. I was hoping for something like that. I hope to see an explanation why Victor is pissed off.
I have a punchline in mind, but the reference is so aged at this point, I wonder if it’ll sell.
I do know – despite it’s complexity – I’d like to do a “cast photo” of everyone in costume as some kind of coda.
I would love to see a cast picture. That would be awesome. And I’m sure it’ll be worth any wait it takes….Okay, maybe not like a year-long wait, but I think I could wait a couple of months. π
Incidentally, I read this today and immediately thought of this strip:

I am willing to bet Tom (real and/or TH Tom) will now make it his life’s mission to either obtain this suit or build a better one.
I’ve seen that suit and it’s AMAZING. He did a Mark III suit as well that was really impressive.
I would love to achieve something similar, but I’m not going to spend $4,000 to do it, thank you! You’d spend the next 5 years of your life entering costume contests in an attempt to break even with the prize money!
