I kind of got more than I bargained for with this little arc about my hand injury, Tom’s grand lie and whatnot. I really didn’t expect it to last two weeks, but I’m very satisfied with the conclusion. I hope you are, too.
Incidentally, if the last panel of today’s comic looks a little familiar, that was intentional. I parodied my own work – Jared’s first encounter with Shia LaBeouf – which you can find here. Ah, memories… Memories and poorly drawn caricatures of Harrison Ford.
Not much else to mention today. Cami is going out of town this weekend with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law so I’m on full-time Henry duty starting today. I’m trying to think of things we can do that will keep him away from television. He’s become very demanding as of late. His hunger for Wow Wow Wubzy and Go, Diego Go know no bounds.
Depending on the weather we might hit up a local wading pool or maybe the zoo. But if it’s not warm enough or if it rains, we’ll be trapped in the house. I don’t know if I have enough Play-Doh to last us the entire weekend.
From a movie standpoint, it’s kind of bad timing that Cami is leaving town. 500 Days of Summer, The Hurt Locker and Funny People all open here today. I don’t know if we’ll have any time to see them together before I leave for Chicago Comic Con on Thursday.
G.I. Joe opens August 7 and will probably be the movie Zach, Gordon, the Digital Pimp crew and I end up seeing (as is our annual tradition). So I don’t know when I’m going to get caught up on the others.
Oh, well. More important things to worry about at the moment. Now where did I leave that Play-Doh?…
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Jealousy, I guess. You're always going on your little crusades and I never get invited!
Tom, I NEVER meant to exclude you! Please know you're ALWAYS welcome to come with me whenever I decide to beat the snot out of Shia LaBeouf!
Could be worse, you could be stuck watching Max and ruby,Dora,or a number of other children’s shows that will bore any adult to tears. My 4 yr old loves Yo Gabba Gabba though,a show that is filled with so much nostalgia that I don’t so much mind. Have fun, hopefully you get out of the house.
Ironically, Fox, as I write this, Henry and I are eating breakfast and watching Dora the Explorer.
I’m more annoyed by the crappy, repetitive and cheap animation on Dora more than anything. But I tolerate it because Henry interacts with it and seems to get something from it.
You’re absolutely right about Max & Ruby, though. Bores me to tears and I see no educational value. I feel the same way about Wow Wow Wubzy. That show looks and sounds like someone animated a Pixie Stix.
I could watch Yo Gabba Gabba on an infinite loop for the rest of my life. But I worry that because it does such a good job of appealing to me that it isn’t good for Henry. Cami thinks the show is stupid.
You and Jared remind me of me and my best friend – and our penchant for wanting to beat up Sting.
Wow Wow Wubzy and Go, Diego Go? What’s about with children’s shows these days and their strange names? Whatever happened to Thomas the Tank Engine and Sesame Street? Plus, the almighty classics that are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Animaniacs and Duck Tales?
This is some classic Brazelton, as far as I’m concerned. From looking through your archives, and reading a fair ammount of the comics, I consider this to be one of those classic “Jared vs.” arcs, even though it was Tom. I look forward to another arc, or something like that. I’m expecting Henry to show up sometime. That would be kool. He’s a cute kid, afterall. ((I’ve seen his pics on your Myspace page))
They look like they are about to perform a “Tony Robins” group hug at a seminar at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Hawaii. A little snot projectile coming from Labeouf’s nose and a grimace of pain would have been a more accurate portrayal.I know I would have had something coming out of my nose from laughing so hard if I saw that image.
well i hope that you get to go outside, but even if you dont you can always make your own playdoh if you run out, i have lots of memories making some with my mom on rainy days and you can find the recipe easily enough online
I love reading your comics because of your hatred for Shia LeBouf. No one else I know understands my hatred for him.
