It occured to me that Jimmy needed some kind of souvenir from his wilder days – and not something easily faked – because even though we know modern day Jimmy as forthright and kind, there needed to be some evidence to back up his claims as a womanizer. A poorly thought through series of tattoos seemed like the appropriate solution.
I imagine a lot of women will probably look at this comic and be really, really turned off by the idea of a guy sporting a sleeve of crossed out names permanently etched into his arm. But there’s something to be said about the appeal of a bad boy, too, right? Oh! But who could hope to tame him?
There’s not much more for me to talk about today and I feel conspicuous cutting today’s blog short. But at the same time, I stayed up WAY too late last night working on the comic after my night class and I’m pretty sure my eyes are focusing in two different directions.
So enjoy the comic and be sure to come back bright and early on Friday for another BIG REVEAL from Jimmy’s sorrid past! Wanna take a guess as to what the big reveal might be? Leave your comments and we’ll see who is right!
I never had problems finding dates.
Wait a minute. Am I really supposed to believe that you were some kind of Lothario?
You want to call shenanigans on my romantic past?
Tell that to an arm-full of decisions.
Hey, I really like the way you have Tom interrupt Jimmy’s story in panel two.
I was just going to make that same comment. I didn’t notice it the first time around, but I cracked up when I looked at it again. π
Yeah. I think it’s clever how you have him roll up the corner of the flashback rather than just cutting back to modern day.
I’m not a movie geek, sadly, so I don’t really know what “Lothario” is. Is that a movie or a character? (Don’t kill me plz. π )
Man, Jimmy dated some skanks back in the day, look at the skirt leangth on that chick in panel two, looks like you could see about 90 % of her ass if you were standing behind her.
Yeah, that skirt is a little North of the knee, isn’t it. π
And Link, Lothario was a character in The Fair Penitent, but it’s pretty much synonmous with “ladies man.” Kind of like calling someone a Cassanova.
You know what would be funny ? If he also had a tattoo of a guy’s name somewhere on his arm and it was crossed out. π
Jimmy is F’in BUFF in panel 4. Didn’t expect so much muscle…
hmmm.. u used a peel for Tom to interrupt the story… and yet.. u use a peel to promote for the theatre hopper 3 book…
hmm.. subliminal much? hahah.. just kidding..
Am loving this storyline
Jullian,
Big Brother is here and he is me!
Alkaline,
Thanks for the kudos. I’m really glad you’re digging the storyline!
hehe, I love how muscled his arm is. Reminds me of how surprisingly buff Flanders is whenever he takes his shirt off on The Simpsons.
Love the peelback interruption. It keeps it surreal. I also love the fact that Jimmy used the same font for every girl’s name….
Alex,
Don’t forget Groundskeeper Willy! Also surprisingly buff!
Kind of interesting to see everyone’s reaction to Jimmy having muscles. I guess I wanted to show him as potent to a degree, but I didn’t think it would a sticking point in peoples minds.
Music,
Jimmy might not be loyal to his women, but he is fiercely loyal to his font selections!
Well, we thought he was thin and slender, so yeah.
Um, I have an interesting theory, but I’m worried it may be exactly the way you have it and I wind up spoiling it for everyone. >>; I’ll just wait for the big reveal and see if my theory is correct.
Link, e-mail me your theory so you’re on the record! I’m curious to see if you’ve figured it out!
Pleased to know people are making guesses!
I’ll give you the link to my Livejournal that has the theory.

For everyone being surprised by Jimmy’s buffness: it just goes to remind you that for any job that requires one to wear a stupid uniform, the uniform is unflattering to 98% of the body types that have to wear it…
